What's New In The Cloud? AWS Dedicated Local Zones.
Amazon EBS Brings Local Snapshots to AWS Dedicated Local Zones.
You can now take advantage of Local Snapshots in AWS Dedicated Local Zones. These are zones that are fully managed by AWS and designed specifically for you or your community, offering exclusive use in locations or data centers you choose.
EBS Snapshots have always been a reliable way to back up your EBS volumes for disaster recovery, data migration, and compliance.
With Local Snapshots, you can now store backups right within the same geographical area as your EBS volumes in Dedicated Local Zones. This makes it easier to meet data residency and isolation requirements. You can even use IAM policies to ensure snapshots stay local and automate their creation and retention using Amazon Data Lifecycle Manager (DLM).
