What's New In The Cloud? Amazon Lex
Amazon Lex now offers new multilingual streaming speech recognition models (ASR-2.0), designed to make your interactions more accurate and inclusive than ever.
These models are tailored to two language groups: one covering Portuguese, Catalan, French, Italian, German, and Spanish, and another focusing on Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. By recognizing shared patterns within these groups, the models deliver significantly improved accuracy—especially for alphanumeric inputs like account numbers, confirmation codes, serial numbers, and product identifiers. This is a big win for tasks like identifying callers and automating processes in Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems.
The enhancements aren’t limited to specific accents or regions. Whether it’s European French or Canadian French, native or non-native speakers, these models are designed to perform reliably across diverse accents and regional variations.
What’s even better? These upgraded models are now the standard for supported languages in Amazon Lex. To start benefiting from them, all you need to do is rebuild your existing bots.
